My 9yr old special needs daughter was told she needed braces on 6-8 teeth in late 2013 by Dr. Canepa. My husband signed up for Orthodontal coverage in 2014 at a cost of nearly $700.00. We did the X-rays, pictures, and teeth model only to be told a few days later that he didn't feel comfortable doing the 30 min procedure because my daughter needed a few minutes of coaxing to get her to lay all the way back. Really? Wow what a kick in the gut! Luckily we found Dr. Ward in Avon. He and his staff assured me she would be treated as an individual with her individual needs being met. We had our first appt with Dr. Ward and it was unbelievable! There are obviously different levels of professionalism. Dr. Ward and his staff are truly at the highest level. Oh, and my daughter will only need an expander in a yr or so and NO braces until her teen years! To all the parents out there who have special needs children or kids who experience anxiety associated with dental work, give your children the best care and go directly to Dr. Ward's office in Avon.
