My daughter was seen by Joe Wasson in his East Memphis Office for three to four years. She had braces to have her upper and lower plate stretched. After experiencing severe pain in her jaw at the age of 16, while still having the braces on I took her for a visit to see Joe to see what was going on. He said that she was fine. The pain persisted and so did I. I took her to an orthodontist in Germantown for a second opinion. He told me "go see Joe and tell him to tell you what is going on".
We then went to see Joe Wasson again and he explained that the treatment had failed and that my daughter jaw bones were dislocated due to the treatment, and this just happens.
I am certain this didn't happen overnight, he was negligent in proactive care or he just didn't care. I won't bore you with the six surgeries my daughter had to correct the problem. CCU for three days, total and complete maxofacial surgery. Years of struggle and hardache and intense pain.
Joe's office did send flowers to the hospital during her surgery, never dedcuted anything from the bill. I did not take legal action because I was overwhelmed with dealing with a child who had to have her jaw wired shut for 6 weeks, and years of pain management.
