He was very charming for the first 6 months. Just long enough to make me feel good about our choice in doctor, so I stopped going in with her.. It all turned bad when my daughter started wearing rubber bands. Every time she went in in to see him after he would actually call her a liar. I heard him say it on multiple occassions. One of our last appointments I had been in the waiting area. when I was called back to my daughters chair. She had been in tears. I asked her what was wrong, but he said "Her" she won't wear her rubber bands! I told him then as I had many times before that she does wear them, and that I check throughout the days. He then took off his gloves threw them on to a tray of instruments and shoved himself backward in his chair, and said " I can't do this anymore! If she won't--" I then asked about the next step. He told me the next step is taking them off and paying him. The remaining balance at the time over $1500 as a lump sum at the time the braces were taken off. I asked about a payment plan. No payment plans because 'he'd been burned in the past'. Bottom line- It takes a lot to make my kid cry, and he was so unprofessional. Teens don't need extra stress. Avoid Dr. Schrader. I just wish we had've.
