I had braces from this dentist. It was from about age 15 - 18. I felt she never listened to me, and discounted what I told her as unimportant. I was given a headgear to wear to correct an overbite, and when I would wake in the morning after wearing it my jaw wouldn't work - I had to pop my lower jaw back in to place forcibly. I told her the headgear was causing me problems and pain, but she told me to wear it anyway which I flat out refused. This elongated my treatment until after months of refusals she came up with another way to fix those teeth.
Also, just after I got my braces removed, she got out an instrument I hadn't seen before- I asked what it was for. She told me it was to polish my teeth. She worked a while, and when I got up I saw she had filed my eye teeth down to where they were blunt! I was appalled. In my family it is considered lucky to have pointed eye teeth! And she filed my teeth without a second thought, not even bothering to tell me what she was doing even when I directly asked.
After all these years I am I am still sad when I see my eye teeth in the mirror
