Dr Olen takes care of my daughter and my son. Both are special needs kids with oral sensitivities. My 14 year old daughter had been getting seen at Children's Hospital Pediatric Dental Clinic for special needs kids, which has good services but is very very hard to schedule, always full, and billing is confusing. Dr Olen's was easy to schedule (a human actually picks up the phone within 5 rings). They did great for both my kids (who at this point I would say have moderate sensitivies and I would not consider them to be exceptionally difficult patients). My Asperger Syndrome son (11) was very freaked about getting his first filling. I paid $60 for nitrous oxide (not covered by my insurance) and it was totally worth it. They skillfully applied the nitrous, then discretely gave him the pain killer shot, and he wasn't even aware that he had gotten a shot. He was all smiles afterward, along with his goody bag of toys, and was actually eager to come for his second set of procedures (he had a mouthful of cavities). In September 2008 the office was being redone. The waiting room is pleasant, the staff is very friendly and all seem to genuinely like what they do. Cost rating = unk (negotiated by insurance).
