I had a really unfortunate experience at Dr. Farthing's office. She came highly recommended, so I took my 3 year old son for a cleaning. He did great with the cleaning and exam, so that part went very well. When it came time to talk to Dr. Farthing, I felt that she treated me in a very unprofessional manner. My son had 4 cavaties. I was very upset and started asking questions about why he had so many. I asked if she thought it was the milk that he drank before bed, and she asked, "Is it in a cup?" Of course! Then she asked if it was choc milk? No, he only gets white milk, and I only let him drink juice once per week. She said no but asked if he has sweet cereals. I said, "No, I only give him Cheerios," and she said, "Well, Cheerios have sugar in them." Well, of course they do. They are a carbohydrate. It's not like I'm giving him Fruity Pebbles. I started to get visibly upset, but Dr. Farthing kept talking at me like I had done something to give my child have 4 cavaties. I know that some children are just more prone to them, but she wouldn't just say that. I lost my composure and started to cry, but she acknowledged it and just kept talking. We will not return to her business. No one deserves to be treated that way.
