Yesterday I brought my son, David Mansfield, for his routine 6 month cleaning. The dentist that saw him was rude from the start. She came in and introduced herself to my son but said nothing to me. I have been going to Weddell since my son was 2. The dentist said that from David's xray he had two cavities. David has never had a cavity. What upset me about the experience was the dentist seemed irritated that I wanted to see the xray and even more irritated that I had questions and concerns. My son is 4 years old and she wants to put silver crowns on his teeth. My concern is that it is a lot for teeth that are temporary. I do understand that he will not lose those teeth for another 7 years, but I feel my concerns were not addressed and I was hurried out of the office. Then my son asked for a toy and was told he didn't get one today. He always gets a toy after a cleaning. The assistant made it seem like he should not have been getting toys. She said I will give him one on his next visit. This facility is suppose to cater to children and put parents minds at ease. Neither happened yesterday. I have an appointment today with another dentist just to get a second opinion.
