The dental care that my son receives is excellent, and my son's visits have all been pleasant experiences.
My only complaint is that the staff lacks tact when it comes to dealing with billing issues and when suggesting to parents that they be more vigilent in caring for their child's teeth.
Instead of offering dental care guidance, the doctor attempted to lecture me like a kid.
My son's care exceeded the limits of his insurance, and I was responsible for the balance ($163.00). I had recently lost my job, and I was going through the lengthy appeals/hearing process to win my unemployment benefits, which had been wrongly disputed by my former employer. I tried to explain my situation to customer service, but the lady was very rude. She demanded to know when I was going to find work, and pay--as if I could see into the future. I looked to Dr. Golnick for a little more sensitivty, but he told me that I needed to learn to pay my bills.
Dr. Golnick's office is great with the kids, but not very warm toward parents...
Being a Single Black Man from Detroit raising his Son alone gains me no points at Dr. Golnick's office, but I'd like to think that it has nothing to do with the lack of respect that I receive there...
