My son loves Dr. Kennard's bright, rain-forest themed office, and he is looking forward to his second visit. The members of the staff are generally pleasant and helpful. (The music in the office/waiting room is on too loud, though, which makes communication and hearing a little difficult.) I have an issue with the policies in place in Dr. Kennard's practice. My son needs to be sedated for any procedure more invasive than a general check-up and cleaning; I've known this for a few years. We were referred to Dr. Kennard last year; we had our initial consultation, followed a couple of weeks later by the procedure, and we were happy with the results. Less than a year later, my son, has another cavity, and WE NEED TO PAY FOR ANOTHER CONSULTATION FOR THE SAME PROCEDURE UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS. I feel like I'm simply wasting both my worktime and my money to spend half an hour being told what I already know. My family has dental insurance, but our plan still requires that we pay quite a bit out of pocket. Combine the cost of the office visits with the cost of the anesthesia my son needs, which isn't covered by any of our insurance, and Dr. Kennard is too pricey.
