This was the worst experience I've ever had at a doctor's office. Our insurance carrier does not provide an actual card for members, you just give your name and social security number. We've had it for years and have visited multiple dentists and never had an issue, but when we showed up for our appt. they refused to see us due to the fact that we don't have a card. I can't believe that an IN NETWORK provider doesn't know that this major insurance company doesn't provide cards, and would refuse treatment to a child who has waited weeks for this appointment. It is not uncommon at all for ancillary insurance compaines to not provide cards, it's the same for our vision. And the dentist was so rude that he sat on the other side of a thin wall and instructed his receptionist to refuse us multiple times, rather than coming out to explain his reasons himself. I wasted 1.5 hours of my busy day, and now have to wait weeks for her to see another dentist because I refuse to return to them. I would never go there again, and wouldn't suggest that anyone else go to a place that's so unaccomodating and out of touch with their own industry.
