I was referred to Dr. McIlveen by another pediatric dentist because the office has a visiting anethesialogist. My one year old had cavities in his top two front teeth. At the consultation Dr. Mcllveen stated that the only option was to put crowns on the teeth. They went over the procedure/cost /follow up etc. We had the work done. The cost of the work was not accurate with the initial estimate but other than that things seemed fine. Then a crown fell off. Then it fell off again. From that point forward things changed. My son's records were tampered with/destroyed, his mouth is infected and his teeth need to be removed. The office is rude to the point of abusive. As soon as a problem occured they wanted no part of us. She does not stand behind her work/take responsibility for it. We are now consulting with an attorney about malpractice. Mcilveen is cold as ice to children and dismissive and rude to parents. She has a lot of plaques from Washingtonian stating she is a top dentist but I have never seen worse. There are many other pediatric dentists in this area. I would avoid this dentist.
