I selected Dr. Reich from my list of preferred providers from my dental insurer web page. I scheduled appointment with the Dr. and then took time off from work for my examination. I have a secondary insurer which has NEVER denied secondary coverage. In the past, when I have had to had periodontal treatment with other dr.s' they got pre-approval before the visit.
Unfortunately, after my examiniation with this Dr., they told me that I would have to pay the portion (20%) that my primary carrier would not pay and then if the secondary carrier paid it they would reimburse me. I thought this was odd and said okay. The very next day, the dr.s' office called me and advised me that they didn't want to work with my primary insurer anymore.
I called my primary insurer and complained. The next day the dr's office called me to let me know that my primary insurer had called them to apologize for poor operating practices in the past. The dr's office wanted me to come back.
I refused to come back due to the overall experience that was poor. I felt the Dr. could have been more customer service oriented. This Dr. gave me the opinion that all he was worried about was the MONEY and service was a secondary issue.
