Bad childhood experiences left me petrified of oral care throughout my life, creating problems now that need treatment. My regular dentist referred me to Dr. Bolt for root planing and scaling, not a fun thing. I'd been warned me that Dr. Bolt was not known for his chairside manner but that he's a great technician in periodontal treatment. But between kind and informative staff, Dr. Bolt's obvious expertise and a good dose of Nitrous Oxide, I was relatively pain free and confident in his abilities. He discovered a cavity below the gumline that had escaped my dentist's xrays and sent a report to him. I also discovered that he is simply a quiet man and into his work but if engaged in conversation he is a very pleasant person. Dr. Bolt's staff also worked with me on a schedule for treatment that made the best usage of my dental benefits. I can't say if he is the best in my area, but compared to others I have used, I felt very comfortable and am happy with his treatment. Also, I can't gauge how expensive he is because every oral service is expensive. Root planing and scaling is $800. Nitrous, which is not covered by my insurance (Delta Dental), was only $15 per visit.
