On 7/30/15 (a Thursday) I went to my Periodontist/Dentist, Steven Uretsky, d.m.d., suite 201, 1900 Murray Ave. Squirrel Hill, 15217, for my regular 3 month teeth and gum cleaning. I have been his patient since 2008 and never had a problem. The evening before the appointment and the morning of, my teeth, gums and mouth felt normal. Upon arrival at Dr. Uretsky's office, he applied a topical anesthetic to my teeth and gums (which he had never done before). He then proceeded to give me the most painful/deep cleaning and scaling that I had ever had. After I left his office, my mouth, teeth and gums hurt very severely. Each day it got progressively worse and I could not eat or chew for 6 days. I called him Monday, 8/3/15 and asked to see him, but he put me off and said to gargle with salt water (which I had been doing) and call him later in the week. Finally, on Wednesday, 8/5/15 he agreed to see me. Upon an exam and xray, he said that it was a coincidence, not his issue, and that I needed a root canal, which I got later that day (from an endodontist/dentist). And while he assured me that it was not his fault, he still felt a need to contact both my other dentist and endodontist about this, violating my privacy and confidential records
