I went in for exam to see if I was a candidate for dental implants. Digital xrays and manual exam was done. 3D images were also taken. Dr. Akin spent almost an hour in all explaining what we would need to do and a brief overview of how we would go about it. Even though I had significant issues/decay, he nor his assistant made me feel embarrassed about it like some dentists have in the past. I went for the first implant today due to breaking off a bad tooth. Dr. Akin spent a long time gently wiggling and working the broken tooth out in order to preserve as much jaw bone as possible. He was very patient and did not hurt me at all. It was an strange but mostly comfortable experience. I elected to do local anestetic only but sedation/twilight was offered. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and pain free the whole implant process was.
