Dr. Matsushima is a conscientious dentist, but maybe not the most advanced in terms of modern techniques. He has filled my cavities, performed cleaning and placed crowns for me, and I've never felt that he was trying to sell me services I didn't need. However, some of the crowns have that telltale "black line" that shows near the gum, and he has never been able to deal with temperature sensitivity I have in one of my molars; he cannot find an obvious reason for it, so there has never been a resolution of this problem and I continue to experience pain with hot and cold. He's good at giving shots (I don't find them painful) and always makes sure I'm completely numb before starting any work. I find him to be a bit on the expensive side, but I've never had problems with billing. He has a good chair-side manner, and the front desk help is extremely friendly. A major plus is that he will take me very early in the morning so I don't have to take time from work. All in all, a pretty good dentist, just doesn't provide anything fancy.
