As long as everything went well, I was satisfied with this doctor, but when he made mistakes, he was very unprofessional.
The first instance was when he was drilling a molar for a filling. His drill slipped off the tooth and into the bottom of my tongue. The resultant hole needed two sutures. After stitching my tongue and completing the filling, he commented that he didn't know how he had done that and that I must have moved my tongue and bumped his drill. Believe me I hadn't.
The filling he put in became throbbingly painful in just under one week. I went to a different dentist who xrayed the tooth and said Burnside had drilled too far and now I needed a root canal. I returned to Burnside to give him the chance to fix the problem. He said he had not drilled too far and we should take a look. He drillled out the filling and put in a temporary filling. He said if there was a need for a root canal we would know if it became painful again. When I got my bill I was amazed that he charged me both for the original, painful filling and the temporary. Needless to say I have not returned.
