Let's start with the good: Vinny did a solid job of cleaning my teeth; I wish I could say the same about Dr. Becker.
I specifically stated on the phone that I only wanted a teeth cleaning, not an exam, because I was under the impression that my dental insurance only covered one exam per year but did cover two cleanings per year (I had already had an exam 6 months before).
I was told on the phone, "Sure, no problem."
I received a cleaning from Vinny and then Dr. Becker appeared and made small talk and performed a brief ~3 minute exam of my teeth, which I figured he was doing to be nice, since I've been to other dentists who will perform a short exam even when I'm only there for a cleaning.
I was surprised when I received a bill for not only the cleaning but also for a dental exam.
I sent Dr. Becker multiple emails trying to clarify the situation but he never responded.
I spoke with his dental staff who said that they had spoke with Dr. Becker and they would not be able to do anything to correct this misunderstanding.
I'm disappointed that in this case Dr. Becker prioritized money over patient-centered care.
