Dr. Wittenberg is my third periodontist, the first one to really talk to me, explain what was going on, why procedures needed, be supportive, etc. He had hygienists go through how I did home care several times, much more carefully than the others, explained the need(s) for gum surgery, used antibiotics placed in the gums, which seemed helpful. When I protested about using Peridex because of the staining I'd experienced before, he suggested applying it directly to the gums, and no staining. He was very encouraging and supportive, and , I think, realistic. No significant pain, office billed insurance, office is helpful. He moved out to the suburbs, increasing my transportation time, but I followed. It is worth it.
