STAY AWAY FROM DR. PAUL R. FINAMORE D.D.S IN STERLING VA I went to see Dr. Paul R. Finamore D.D.S. in Sterling, VA in December of 2007. I felt that my gums on my left bottom side might be receding and wanted a dentist who also claimed he worked on gums to take a look. When I got there, he looked for a second and said they are not that bad. He wanted to take some x-rays and see how my teeth were. I agreed. After the x-rays, he told me that I had 5 small cavities that should be taken care of before they get worse. I set up an appointment for the following week to come and start work on the teeth. He finished them in two appointments. Shortly after (about two weeks later) I felt some pain on tooth number 13 (top left side, one of which we worked on) I went back to him and he took an x-ray. He said the filling that he did is really close to the nerve, sometime the pain goes away, if it does not, it would need a root canal. (I was like why did he drill so deep, so close to the nerve for such a small cavity) I told him that my bottom teeth #19-20 which he worked on are really sensitive to cold/hot. He told me to use Sensodyne toothpaste and it would go away. Thats when I started to get a bad feeling about him. A couple of weeks later the pain came back badly on tooth number 13. A friend referred me to a dentist and I went to see him. The results were that Dr. Finamore had nicked the nerve and the only thing left to do was a root canal. I had it done. In March 2008, I started to get these bad ear and headaches and was still having really bad sensitivity on hot/cold on teeth 19 and 20. I thought I had an ear infection. I went to an ear, nose and throat specialist and was told my ear was fine, my sinuses were fine. I went back to my new dentist who after taking a bunch of x-rays finally was able to determine that teeth 19 and 20 which Dr Finamore had worked on were left open on the sides. The sides between 19 and 20 were left wide open and that was why I was getting the cold/hot sensitivity problem. He on the x-ray, the teeth might also need to be root canals. He gave me a Novocain shot after shot, after 5 Novocain, I was still screaming when the air from the drill hit my teeth. He then gave me laughing gas, which really didnt do much. Anyway, he drilled as I yelled. Once he opened it up, (I could see it on the mirror by the light) a volcano of pus came out of my teeth.

About Hygienist: I have received three root canals due to Dr. Finamores incompetence as a dentist. I went through days and nights of pain and hours and hours of waisted time and pain on the dentists chair to fix the problem caused by Finamore. These were simple fillings he had to do. Each root canal costs between $1,000-$1,200, plus the crown that must be placed on the tooth costs around $1,000 each. This is going to cost me around $6,000, not to mention my teeth which were fine before he got his hands on them are now completely ruined and will never come back. I went today by Dr. Finamores office to speak to him, but his rude secretary that barely spoke English told me that I could not see him without an appointment. She also refused to give me my own personal file, the file that is mine, about me and paid for by me.

I know this doctor: Six Months
