I ended up needing a root canal after a filling due to intense pain. Long story short, Dr. Ayer performed a root canal on tooth #3, and the pain didn't subside. 4 months passed with several procedures including a second root canal procedure on #3- he sent me to a specialist. After 5 minutes, the specialist determined that the root canal was performed on the wrong tooth, so I got a root canal on tooth #2, and my pain went away. Aside from lack of testing to find the correct tooth, all of this could be forgiveable. After root canal #2, I called Dr. Ayer, simply to inquire about him helping on the cost of the 2nd crown I needed. He became very offended, was extremelly rude and beligerant on the phone (to the point of putting me on speaker phone and walking away while I sat in silence). The frustrating thing was that he kept flying off the handle without even remembering my case. He would blow up, I would correct his misinformation, he would calm down, then he would blow up again. I had seen him for 6 months, and I kept having to remind him of my case.! Dr. Ayer is unskilled- as indicated by the lack of testing on my painful tooth. He is also unprofessional as indicated by his dealings with me on the phone. Think twice.
