I went to Dr. Hughes to have a crown and 2 fillings performed. He gave me novacaine while the hygenist put on a DVD for me to watch. Dr. Hughes then left me sitting in the chair for over 2 hours while I watched the entire movie, before he came back to perform the work. By then my novacaine had worn off, but he didn't check my gums to see if I was numb before putting a drill on my tooth. My body bolted up in response to the immense pain and as a result Dr. Hughes cut my lips up with his drill. Even worse he spent the next 10-15 minutes berating me (in front of all the other patients and staff) for not raising my hand when I felt pain.
I have never feared the dentist and never really understood why other people did...now I understand completely.
I can't tell you how much I reccommend avoiding this dentist office. In addition to this experience I was left in the waiting room for an hour on my first appointment, which in its entirity shouldn't have taken that long.
After two appointments & $800, I spent 3 hours waiting for thier staff to perform the procedures scheduled for my appointments, had a drill put on tooth with no novacaine, had my lips cut in three places and developed a new found terror of dentists.
