Cleanings are fine (the hygienists do a great job). The last time I went in for a cleaning I found out I had some cavities. I went back last week and he filled cavities on one side and it was fine. I had no pain, or soreness. He wanted me to come back to do the other side in a few days. I am not scared of dentists or needles. When I returned he really hurt me w/the Novocaine, and I could feel shooting pain when he drilled (it felt like he put the Novocaine in the wrong area). That night my jaw was so sore I had to take Motrin 800 for the pain (I couldn't even open my mouth to eat). I have weak enamel on my teeth so I have had lots of fillings before and I have never been hurt like that in my life. On teeth he did a filling between there is a big gap now. There is so much space between the teeth I can stick 3 pieces of floss in there. Food gets stuck in there every time I eat. The other fillings he put in are so jagged it shreds my floss and cuts my tongue. It hurts when ever I eat anything hot, cold, warm, it doesn't matter the temp. I mentioned it to him on the 2nd appt. & he said that I would get use to it (it's from the silver fillings), but it hurts bad. I have a mouth full of silver and it has never bothered me.
