I found this a perfectly adequate dentistry while I was a student at UC Santa Cruz. I likely would have continued to visit Dr. Klim until graduation had they kept my insurance; as it was, I had to look elsewhere.
I never presented anything more challenging than a filling to Dr. Klim, but I felt he handled the issues I did show without incident. Unlike other dentists I have seen since, I have no problem with Dr. Klim's technical competence. For more advanced work, he referred me to an excellent oral surgeon.
My only complaint is that the office had a tendency to money-grub; they would frequently bill services at a higher level than reality (e.g., "full mouth debridement" vs "prophylaxis"), bill my insurance multiple times for the same service, try to sell additional products like high-fluoride toothpaste and breath freshener, and add uncovered surcharges to standard covered procedures (e.g., a "sterilization surcharge"). All of this, I presume, was in an attempt to raise more money besides what my insurance company would pay.
