I started with Dr. Hoffman when my tooth broke in the mid-1980's. He handled it quickly and competently and I still have the crown. Since then I have had a number of fillings and all work done excellently. He is quite gentle and low-key. His hygenists clean your teeth gently by hand, although they take about an hour (reminds me, I should get my teeth cleaned).
My only problem with him is expense. I don't have dental insurance but I received a letter from him saying he does not accept Delta, they didn't pay enough. I pay out of pocket and it really adds up. A cleaning with x-rays runs about $200. But that's life in the Bay area I guess.
