Office staff nice enough. However, when I called based on a referral from a friend, I asked the office if they accepted my insurance and they said yes. What they failed to tell me was that they ARE OUT OF NETWORK, and therefore, my services would cost me a premium. They did x-rays in Sept.09, and hastily referred me to a specialist for a root canal the following week (I was in no pain). Dr. Mathews office then lagged on billing Delta Dental, who then ended up rejecting the dental claim because the limited services provided was eaten up by the specialists claims, and went over the $1000 out for network allowed, but was under the $2000 I was granted with IN NETWORK dentists. FURTHER, I was disturbed to find out AFTER the root canal was done (1st one ever) that Dr. Mathews figured I'd wear a temp crown around for Sept-Oct-Nov-Dec. until I had new insurance $$$ to bill out in 2010 for the crown?!?!? Thank goodness I was able to find a dentist in network to finish the job. I have no idea what is going in with dentists anymore, are times that tough that they put their medical billing over patient care?
