What dentist charges $160 for a 5 minute consultation, when said consultation is related to a condition the dental office performed little more than year before (and was paid VERY well for)?
I believe professionals who do good work deserve fair compensation, but come on. That's $1920/hour-- for a consultation. Yet that is what I paid to have my wife's TMJ re-evaluated by Dr. Velton. What's more, an elderly patient obviously distraught, drew the Dr. away-twice- during his exam of Francisca, leaving her sitting there with her own concerns about her condition and wondering when he would return (15 minutes) and if he was even interested.
Apparently he was unwilling to trust his staff to deal with the situation. Walking out like that to deal with a customer service issue when you have staff on hand to deal with such matters shows a lack of leadership and is not the way to build confidence or gain the respect of your patients or your employees.
His five minute evaluation gave a proper diagnosis. I respect his skill and the fact that he is a Christian, but I feel his chairside manner and pricing could stand a re-evaluation.
