I am writing this review to help anyone looking for a dentist. I recently moved to the area, and like most people, I wanted to get set up with a dentist to care for my oral hygiene. I looked to see what was close and read a few reviews, finally deciding on Royal Oak Dental due to proximity. They were quick to schedule an appointment, but it was all down hill from there.
First off, his office is old and dirty... a strike right off the bat! When I think of a dentist's office, I want something that is new, or at least clean and sanitary. His hygienists seem nice, though they actually fought over the last working dental chair. I eventually had to have my teeth cleaned in a side room - in plain view of all the people in the waiting room. That was uncomfortable! When Dr. Gilbert finally came in, he just sat down right in my face without introducing himself. Some people are ok with their dentist not having any social skills, but I am not one of them. I attended medical school and have met plenty of fellow doctors that lack basic people skills, but I found Dr. Gilbert to take the cake. He was egotistical and abrasive. I suppose it is possible that I caught Dr. Gilbert on a bad day, but I doubt it. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone!
