After being a patient of Dr. Maher's for almost 20 years I had a very unpleasant experience during my bi-annual cleaning and x-rays. After years of having the same hygienist, his office has been the revolving door for hygienists the last few years. During this most recent visit I had yet another hygienist. The equipment did not function properly in the room which made for an uncomfortable cleaning and to top that off I had two separate assistants that performed the x-rays and the second one seemed highly inexperienced almost gagging me twice. When the receptionist who is probably the only pleasant person in the office indicated that she had scheduled out my next two appointments, I made the comment that based on the service I received that day that I was not sure I wanted to return unless the service levels/equipment improved. The same week I received a letter at my home from the dentist office dropping me as a patient. I contacted the office and spoke with Dr. Maher directly. I was extremely surprised at his response which was to reiterate that I might be happier somewhere else. It was shocking to me that he was not interested at all in understanding the poor customer service levels incurred especially after 20 years
