As a patient at the Lomita-Torrance Dental Office for approximately 20 years, I've noticed that the availability of certain procedures and the competence of the front office has fallen off since I first started going there.
I had a fantastic dentist, Dr. Janice Fukushima, who, unfortunately, only works there once a week now. She's the primary reason I kept returning.
In the past I was able to make an appointment for a cleaning every six months, as per my dental insurance; in the last couple of years I've had to wait from four to six months for a cleaning appointment. More patients and not enough dental hygienists.
Last year, the front desk asked me to pay $30.00 as a "co-pay for a filling," which I did. When I inquired in the back office, I was told it was actually an optional fee for a tooth-colored filling. And after all that, the filling the dentist put in wasn't tooth-colored at all!
Needless to say, I won't be going there again.
