Growing up in an area where the population paid for their medical services with cash, and therefore did not tolerate bad doctors, Ive come to appreciate the quality of true medical professionals.
Over the last 15 years, I have lived in almost every part of the country and in almost every case, Ive carried two dentists: one which I utilize for routine procedures (who accepts my insurance) and one which I utilize for difficult procedures (who does not accept insurance cash only). In only two instances, have I been happy with a dentist that accepts insurance; Dr. Rusty Ulmer in Tucson, AZ, and Dr. Lisa Nakagawa, in Torrance, CA.
Dr. Nakagawa is one of those rare dentists that could easily survive and prosper without having to work with the insurance companies, but readily accepts my current plan. I have been with Dr. Nakagawa since 2004 and I have never had an instance when I would even consider having to track down an alternative dentist for a procedure.
