The only doctor - ever - with whom I did not feel any pain/discomfort as I was numbed up. I always feel the pain of the anesthetic entering my gums, in spite of that topical stuff they rub on beforehand. With Dr. Carter, I didn't feel anything. Very cool. It took a long time for him to apply the entire dose, but as long as I don't/won't feel pain, I don't care. So 4 stars for pain free. I am *never* relaxed when going to dentists, so I can't fault him for my nerves.
The procedure that I was having done was a root canal. The process was divided into two visits. Dr. Carter and his assistant performed both procedures efficiently (it felt - I couldn't actually see) and with minimal fuss. Dr. Carter called me the evening after my first visit to check that my tooth was okay. One of his assistants called me after my second visit to do the same. I thought it was a nice touch.
