Dr. Kammer was my TMJ dentist since 1989. He put me in a flat plain night splint, which helped the TMJ pain I had been experiencing. I realize now that he should have referred me to an orthodontist immediately, but he did not! Over the years my TMJs were deteriorating, even though I did not know this. In Feb. of 2007 he installed 2 crowns, but the one on the upper left did not meet the opposing tooth, which caused intense pain in my left TMJ. I returned 4 times in an attempt to get him to fix the problem. He refused to redo the crown. He adjusted my night splint 3 times, but this did not help. He had agreed prior to my getting the crowns that he would relign the splint if needed, but when it was needed, he refused to do it. On the fourth return visit (I'm still in a lot of pain), he ground down my teeth, making the situation worse! Now I have no occlusion, and the one tooth that does make contact with the opposing tooth when I bite, forces my jaw to the left, which is very painful, and has caused more deterioration of my TMJ joints. Now I am facing ortodontics, possible jaw surgery, 24 hour splint therapy for up to a year, then very costly full mouth rehabilitation. I strongly recomment NOT visiting this dentist!
