I am very disappointed in Dr. Wostrel and his staff. During a routine cleaning, it was noted by the hygienist that an existing filling in a bottom molar was soft and needed replacement. During the exam, Dr. Wostrel confirmed the soft filling and stated that a second existing filling in a top molar also possibly warranted replacement. Reluctantly, I agreed to the replacement of both fillings.
During the filling replacement process, the dental assistant used another bottom molar, which had a large filling, as a fulcrum point to help keep my tongue out of the way. As a result, the bottom molar used as a fulcrum point has been sensitive and throbs off and on throughout the day.
Too add insult to injury, I have continued to have pain with the tooth which may have warranted a filling replacement since the appointment. This tooth has been identifed by both Dr. Wostrel and an endodontist as needing a root canal and a subsequent crown.
What is most upsetting is, that prior to the replacement of the fillings, I had no dental pain. Since then, however, I have experienced dental pain on a daily basis. In addition, I was disappointed in that Dr. Wostrel was eager to push me off to an endodontist rather than attempt to fix it.
