I just ended a five year deteriorating experience with this Dental office and highly unprofessional staff, and would recommend against this Dental practice.
I have always been very constientious about my oral hygiene and the care of my teeth, and actually moved to this Dental practice five years ago because I like the hygienist who took care of my cleaning, and who actually had moved to this practice from my prior Dentist. I have been alternating maintenance visits with a Periodontist in a team approach to my oral hygeine which has worked well, and that along with my appreciation for this Dentist's hygienist is the only way I could persevere as a patient in his office for the past five years.
From the beginning, the front office staff was incredibly rude and abrasive both on the phone when scheduling and on my visits. I am paying by check on each visit on a non-insured basis, and I never got as much as a thank you from the staff taking my payments or any greeting when visiting his office for my routine visits, and the staff did well to make me feel unwelcome on my visits. While paying above-average fees for standard to sub-standard care, Dr. Philips would spend no more than 3 to 4 minutes examining my teeth with hardly a greeting, and fortunately since I have no dental issues, more attention was not required. Over the past three years, when I had to call him to point out the very unprofessional and rude manner of his front office staff, he would have a cavalier take-it-or-leave-it attitude and a token, "I'll talk to her" response that accomplished nothing.
I only stayed on as a patient since I was due to relocate in the past year but when circumstances required I remain in the region, their staff never bothered to contact me to verify my status in the area and neglected any professional follow-up for the routine maintenance that was due. When I called to find out why, and again was treated very rudely, I asked to speak with Dr. Philips only to find a total lack of regard for my patient experience in his office and total neglect for the proper handling of my patient records, until I asked him to mail them to me some six months after they decided to close my files and not even to bother to verify whether I was actually in the area. In this follow-up conversation with Dr. Philips, I had asked how I could continue as a patient with this lack of professional support, and his answer was I should look for another Dentist, where we finally had total agreement!
For the high fees this Dentist charges, I have found many more caring and professional Dental offices to seek much better Dental care and respect for my patronage.
