***Buyer Beware!*** This dentist prides himself on being the best in Kansas City. I beg to disagree. As a healthcare provider myself, I am completely appalled at his office practices. He is not at all concerned with patient care. He is a boutique dentist solely concerned about his paycheck. His services are overpriced and he offers no real discounts to cash paying patients. A 10% discount if services are paid in full in advance is hardly a discount when his billing rates are higher than other comparable dentists. In our case because we have dental insurance (which he doesn't even accept) we were'nt even told about this available discount. Furthermore, other dentists often accept insurance payments or properly discount a patients bill if they are out of network. Ask for such a discount in his office & you will be treated as if you are a poor person of a lower class & well out of place. Dr Guillen's office manager/wife will treat you rudely & act as if she is doing you a real favor by "sending the paperwork to your insurance company as a courtesy." Far from being courteous she then lies & says such discounts are illegal. I guess this means every other physician & dentist is breaking the law, because we do it all of the time.
