Past surgeries led to a large infection that 4 dentists (WELL rated) ignored or were unable to recognize although obvious on THEIR x-rays.
The infection spread to sinus and eye. Fevers, flu-like, so sick. Endos and Oral surgeons wanted to take the tooth out "not enough bone for an apico re-treat and that it woud fail."
I was concerned by endo and surgeon recommendations for implant, bone graft, sinus lift.
I wanted less surgery, not more. And, how could the surgeon let me go home with a bad infection and no antibiotics???
I researched who other endos would see. Dr. Kim literally wrote the book on the procedure I had done.
He recognized the urgency during the consult and made time that very packed day for my surgery.
I was very nervous, concerned, unsure, asked a ton of questions and made his hectic day more hectic.
2 practicing endos happened to be visiting and observed the technique. Pictures along the way.
It was very expensive but the better decision.
Bone is healing well. Other infections (sinus, eye) cleared up post surgery.
I do not have dental coverage and am unemployed. The procedure was comparable to the quotes that the oral surgeons gave for the bone graft, sinus lift, implant.
