Dr. Nan Niland has a very nice bedside manner. But in my experience with her she is focused on how your teeth look and not the health of your mouth. She has done fillings, veneers, root canal and a crown for me. The root canal was the problem. She spent a very long time performing the root canal and multiple x-rays. Each time you could clearly see a dark spot at the top of my root. I could tell she was perturbed by this, but for some reason she just decided the procedure was complete. I had no idea that the dark spot was an INCOMPLETE root canal. She did the crown (which is too big for my mouth and now takes the brunt of my bite). A couple years later I changed dentists and he noticed the spot right away. He thought that the crown was loose and bacteria had gotten in there, but I knew it had been there since the root canal. After years of infections and pain I was told I need to have a apicoectomy...a very expensive and painful procedure. I shouldn't have needed an apico if Dr. Niland had just done a better job with the root canal.
