I had a root canal at this office. They do not accept checks only cash or credit card. My regular dentist told me this. I took $1,070 cash. I did not receive a receipt. This was my fault for not asking for one but I was very nervous. I filled out the paper work for insurance. I assumed (stupid me) that they would file on the insurance and the insurance would reimburse me. This was my experience with my dentist in Florida. I received a call today from the office stating I owed an additional $393.40 because I had paid them only $500. I told them, "no I had paid at least $1,000" She argued with me that I had only paid $500. I didn't have a receipt so I told her to send me the bill. I then called back to tell her I saw in my check book where I had withdrawn $1,200 and a notation "for the dentist". She said "oh yes you paid $1,070. but only $500 had gone to the endodontist. The rest was because I had received IV sedation. This was not explained to me at the time of service. If it had, I would have had no problem with the cost. I do have a problem with the office staff essentially calling me a liar and with no explanation as to what I was paying for with the $1,070 cash I gave to the office. They had my address wrong.
