I am so disappointed with Dr. Al-Aswad's staff, but she is a good dentist. Irregardless of the fact that we have spent over $4,000 for her to treat our daughter, her office mistreated us. We received a bill in the mail and wanted to use the WageWorks debit card since my company's policy is that all such expenses be paid that way. We were told that since they don't take credit cards over the phone, if we don't come in person to pay the $45 balance, then we must pay a $10 late fee. My daughter's cleaning appointment was in 28 days and they couldn't said that it doesn't matter. This inflexibility based on their inability to charge me the correct amount after the procedure and their unwillingness to show any flexibility with an established patient shows a bureaucracy that should not exist in such a small practice. Then we called to say we wanted our daughter's records since we're going to another dentist, the receptionist said that there is a $50 charge for this service. The records belong to us but legally they have to keep the originals, so copies cost $50 to make! When I told her that I didn't want the x-rays but just the other paperwork which can be photocopied in 3 minutes, she then said it was all or nothing. Wow!
