I decided to try this dentist since it was local and my insurance covered the majority of my cost to be seen. When first walking in, I automatically felt unwelcomed. The dentist was standing at the secretary desk talking. When stating that I just wanted a cleaning with no x-rays he responds with "are you a dentist?" and said he was the dentist and HE would decided what was done, which I felt was completely rude. I simply just wanted a cleaning because I would have to pay more for x-rays which I could not afford. The patients next to me also complained of the dentist not seeming to do any work. He was walking back and forth chatting, 20 minutes after I scheduled my appointment time. There was also someone with a tooth extraction in front of me, still waiting to be seen. When asking about the cost of co-pay of the visit, to clarify what I have already been told. The cost had been more then what I was told on the phone. Only by $5, which was no big deal. Except the way the dentist handled the situation by saying he would not tell someone differently what the price is and he makes the prices, again in a very rude way. That is when I decided to not be seen. It was too much of a feeling of animosity in the room for me. When seeing a dentist, or any doctor for that matter, I want to feel welcomed and in a friendly atmosphere. I would rather pay the full cost of my previous dentist who was extremely friendly that have this dentist see me.
