Dr. Harris is certainly knowledgeable and competent. However, his chair-side manner is poor. To be fair, Dr. Harris is a perfectionist, and he will give you the best treatment possible. Just don't expect him to be particularly kind or understanding while he's doing it.
I was a patient with Dutrow, Manwaring, and Harris for 2 years. The hygienists and office staff are really wonderful, as are Drs. Dutrow and Manwaring. For these reasons, I would still recommend this practice, with a warning as to what to expect.
At my initial exam, I badly needed a cleaning and had 3 cavities. I expected scolding, but Dr. Harris grew increasingly agitated and almost hostile as the exam progressed. I tried to schedule subsequent appts for days that Dr. Harris wasn't there, but wasn't always successful. On these occasions, he was still a bit edgy and irritable, especially after I declined his numerous attempts to pressure me into buying an expensive tooth-bleaching procedure. At my last visit (a routine cleaning), he treated me brusquely and also snapped at the hygienist.
After that, I stopped going to the dentist for several years out of irrational fear. However, if you can handle Dr. Harris' attitude, you'll receive very good dental care.
