On April 12th, 2012, I was referred to Dr. Harry V. Whitehill for a root canal. Seeing as that I am a twenty-nine year old, full-time working individual, who unfortunately does not have the means to afford health insurance, I attended a low-income clinic and had to sacrifice paying in the amount of six-hundred dollars for the cost of services. Although, my concern does not dwell on the financial aspect, but rather the overall quality of experience to which I am both disappointed and insulted by.
Upon scheduling my appointment and speaking with Dr. Whitehill’s receptionist regarding my referral and his availability; my situation was deemed a dental emergency—and openings were rapidly made available for the upcoming week. My appointment time was scheduled for April 20th, 2012 at 7:45 am. When I had arrived at my appointment, I encountered Dr. Whitehill sitting in the front desk. He proceeded to have a blank stare as I approached him and inquired about signing in—upon pause and hesitation, he responded yes in an unprofessional, rude manner to which I was uncomfortable with. Keep in mind, that I am a Hispanic female of dark complexion with short length hair.
