Dr. Read did a root canal for me 5 years ago. He was in a bad mood that day--I should have left the office then. His assistant put the dental dam in improperly. He used a big plier-tool to remove it after 5 huge tugs. I heard my jaw pop and felt pain--even through many shots of novacaine. For 2 hours my head rested on a metal bar as he sat in a chair and drilled.
By Saturday, my husband took me to a hospital emergency room because my neck and jaw pain was so bad. The doctor gave me pain pills and told me to call Dr. Read on Monday. I did that and Dr. Reed shouted "It didn't happen here" into the phone and hung up on me.
My jaw was so badly dislocated that I lost 64 pounds over the next 3 months. My pain levels were enormous. I saw 8 different doctors. The results of the MRI stated that it looked like I had gone through the windshield of a car going 50 mph.
I wrote him a letter telling how he had changed my life for the worse. Instead of calling me to see how I was doing, he started to call every doctor I had listed on my patient card. I was no longer his patient and he did not have my permission.
Several vertebrae in my neck are dislocated and will never go back in. My life is much worse for seeing him.
