This particular experience goes back about 13 years, but take it for what it is worth. My two year-old daughter fell and knocked her two front teeth forward so that they were perpendicular to her bottom teeth. Dr. Bates assured me that the teeth would move back into place and they did! (consult via phone call...)
However, since the impact of her of fall was so hard, Dr. Bates needed to make certain her teeth were healthy and checked her out anyway.
After careful examination, he figured out that one tooth would die. It did. We opted to keep the tooth in place for spacing reasons. Yet, to keep the health of her root area for that dead tooth, Dr. Bates recommened a root canal to the tooth to get medicine to the root level.
Bottom line: My two year-old little girl didn't even fidget! (No, she wasn't "under".) Dr. Bates and his staff were so wonderful with her that to this day, she is not afraid of going to the dentist. As a matter of fact, since then she even felt comfortable enough to go to Dr. Bates office for a check up and be in one area, while I am in another area getting my teeth cleaned! I attribute my children's positive attitude about going to the Dentist to Dr. Bates and his loyal, dedicated team!
