Good dentists are to find. They all tend to want to solve any problem by either 2) doing a crown, or b) doing a root canal/crown. Of course, those procedures are expensive while causing serious trauma to your teeth. Rather than seeing these procedures as actions of last resort, Dr. Clements, like many dentists, sees them as the common and best solution. I had a slight fracture in a tooth. A small part of it broke off. His solution: crown. Mine: a filling to cover the break. (After consulting with a dentist in my family who lives far from me, she had confirmed I only needed a filling. I provided the appropriate photos as well.) In any event, he refused to do the procedure. In the end, these are my teeth, so I'm not sure why I should be held hostage by my dentist who says I either get a crown or nothing.
