My first experience with Dr. Laxer was not great because it was a couple days after Sept.11, 2001. I was especially anxious and safety-conscious, and even though it was my son's first visit to the office, I wasn't allowed to even walk back and see where my son would be sitting. Also, the treatment plan was outrageously priced and contained optional items (sedation)that were not discussed with me; neither did she offer alternative treatments that would be more conservative (less invasive) and still effective. If it hadn't been for my knowledge of dentistry and bringing up options, they would not have been presented. All that being said, my son does love Dr. Laxer because she is very kind and gentle - unlike Dr. Long, her office partner, who does not have a good "bedside" manor. If you have good insurance, Dr. Laxer is a great choice-but ask about treatment options if you don't like the severity or complexity of the treatment plan.
