It seems a new trend has occurred where dentists have received some sort of intensive sales training when it comes to patient treatment. Dr. Anita Imadomwanyi suggested I had 10 cavities (which I do not), and that I have gum disease (which I do not), and that I need over $2400 worth of work. She also suggested many other unnecessary things that cost a fortune and would not clean my teeth unless I scheduled an appointment to undergo all the other services she suggested. What happened to the days when a dentist would clean your teeth and clean below the gums as part of a normal visit without an additional extra charge? I feel like she barely checked my teeth for cavities before announcing that I had 10 of them. My mom is a dental hygienist and I've spent a small fortune over the years working on my smile with braces and appliances. I've been to many dentists over the years, and never have I left the dental office feeling like I was buying snake oil. Dentists used to clean below the gum line during a regular cleaning. This office wanted to charge me $500 to do the same thing that they used to do. Then they wouldn't do a regular cleaning unless I scheduled an appointment to do the "deep gum cleaning."
