I was a patient of Dr. Howard Silver several years ago and was very grossed out by how dirty his office was. He was a very nice man, but there were many problems I had with the quality of care. He did not wear a dental mask when examining my teeth, therefore would breathe into my face. The only reason I continued with him was because he was the only dentist who did sedation dentistry that accepted my insurance and I was a very nervous patient, so I put up with those things. The real test came after he did a number of route canals and caps under sedation. The caps were way too big for my mouth and each one began to get infected and in time I had to have them redone by a better dentist. I lost a tooth in the front because of the poor job he did with the root canal and cap. The other dentist tried to save it at least 3 times before deciding to just remove what was left of the tooth and at around 27 years old I had to get a partial denture. I am so embarrased at social settings where eating is involved because I have to take the denture out to eat. Finding an inconspicuous place to remove it and put it back in is especially embarrasing and I have to be careful talking to people over a meal as it is noticable.
