I have been visiting Dr. Won for three years. Three weeks ago, I visited the clinic for cleaning. The X-ray machine is so out of date and old fashioned, but I tolerated. One assistant did both X-ray and cleaning in twenty minutes. Finally, Dr. Won stepped in for two minutes and asked me why I didn’t come every six months. Dr. Won continued that since my insurance covered all X-ray and cleaning and I did not need to pay anything, I should come every six months. I said OK and thank him for the information.
Today, I got a bill from Dr. Won's clinic. I was asked to make more than fifty dollars co-payment after my insurance company paid more than one hundred dollars for my one-time cleaning. I called the clinic and asked about this. Mrs. Fran answered the phone and acknowledged she issued the bill. When I mentioned Dr. Won’s comment three weeks ago, Mrs. Fran denied immediately and said I received five X-rays in one visit so that I needed to pay more. When I said the more advanced X-ray machine could provide one global picture instead of five separate ones, Mrs. Fran yelled YOU MUST PAY and then suddenly hung up the phone. It is unexpected, discourteous, and unprofessional. So, next time before you call Dr. Won, read this again!
